Aromatherapy is how we use plants to enhance our own health on a physical and emotional level. The therapeutic use of aromatic plants seems to be as old as human civilization itself. Essential oils are produced by the plant to prevent bacterial, viral and fungal infections, heal wounds, attract pollinators, and deter the growth of other plants and to communicate. Essential oils are a hundred times more concentrated than the plant itself. With their healing properties and emotional benefits they assist our bodies in finding the best way to self-restore.
I use the art of Kinesiology muscle testing when working with essential oils. Sometimes Aromatic Kinesiology is the priority for the session. It is an empowering system of energetic medicine that blends the harmonizing influences of essential oils with gentle healing techniques to balance the emotions and transform stress. Other times essential oils are used as part of Swiss Reflex Therapy where the feet are a way of accessing the meridian system and thumb pressure is applied on the feet to release blockages in the meridian system. In Aromatherapy Massage, the first part of the session is geared towards assessing the symptoms of the client and preparing a mix of aromatherapy essential oils, the second part to using the prepared mix for the treatment.
